First place winner for the Fire Safety Essay for the 4th grade was Destiny Stevens. This is what Destiny wrote: Fire Safety! Always remember that when your clothes catch on fire STOP, DROP, AND ROLL and remember always cover your face. Fire loves air so don't try to blow it out. There are two ways to get out of a bedroom. Either the door or the window. And always feel the door with the back of your hand before going through it. Always have a plan when your house catches on fire. Get out of the house. DON'T GO BACK FOR ANYTHING! Even your dog is important to you. Family is more important. Always once a month always check your smoke detector. Smoke detectors save lives. And one more thing. Always crawl like a baby when there is a fire and never go back up because the smokey air is up and the good air is down. And always know how to open your window practice at home. Always call 9-1-1 amd don't call it inside. Call it at your neighbor's house.
