Antsy in First Grade

First graders read the nonfiction story Ants, by Jonathan Zea. We sang When Ants Go Marching Home Again while acting it  out. We sang the Insect song and label the insect body arts on a diagram. We made ants using clay as our medium. We also designed a cover for our own ant books using sand for the ant hill and discussed texture.
