3rd Place Fire Safety Essay Winner

Carrie Ragan was the 3rd place winner for 4th grade. Here is what Carrie wrote: You should check your smoke detector once a month. The smoke detector needs to work to save lives. There should be two ways out of the room which are the door and the window. If you catch on fire, you should stop, drop, roll, and cover your face. Your family should sit down and make a plan about where your meeting place should be outside. One a good day, you could practice crawling like a baby to get out of the house someway. The smoke is what we fear most. Smoke goes up high so you need to stay down low. You should NEVER go back in the house for anything! STAY SMART! STAY SAFE!
